The Place That Moves
There is a place that cannot be found on an anatomical chart.
It is not a cranial suture.
Not a membrane.
Not cerebrospinal fluid.
Not the sacrum.
Not a measurable point hidden between flexion and extension.
And yet anyone who has lived attentively has encountered something like it.
The instant before an answer.
The quiet after exhalation.
The moment a hand stops pushing and begins listening.
The silence in a room after difficult truth has finally been spoken.
The strange suspension after loss, when the old life has ended and the new life has not yet acquired a name.
The pause before forgiveness.
The hesitation before courage.
The moment a practitioner realizes that the theory does not fit the person.
The moment the person discovers that the body is capable of something it feared it could no longer do.
We have called this place StillPoint.
The name contains a paradox.
Because the Still Point moves.
It moves with the breath.
With the body.
With history.
With relationship.
With the changing demands of life.
It cannot be possessed.
The moment we turn it into a fixed object, we lose its deepest meaning.
